Spruce Effects

A classic 3-knob Tonebender spinoff, the Salt Water Fuzz was built for hot lead tones and sustaining chord riffs with excellent musical mid-range. 3 perfectly matched NOS Germanium transistors create an excellent, higher gain fuzz tone. The Swell, Surf, and Tide controls are extremely interactive and there are limitless possibilities. Crank it for face-melting leads, or dial the Surf knob back (even all the way back) for subtle growl.

  • True Bypass
  • Switchcraft Jacks
  • High quality stomp switch: nickel plated lugs, phenolic plastic casing, precision engineered switching mechanism, high-tension spring for smooth stomping
  • Enclosure printed in USA
  • Hand wired and assembled in California
  • Hand selected vintage NOS Germanium transistors
  • Standard negative ground power--this pedal plays nicely with others!

We always recommend isolated power supplies. If you daisy chain effects on one supply (ours can handle that despite being Germanium PNP powered), you may inject noise, ripple, ground loop hum, etc. This effect requires 9v, center negative power. In other words, the industry standard power supply.

  • Input on right side, output to amp on left
  • True-bypass stomp switch is on/off, indicated by LED
  • "Swell" control closest to input side controls the fuzz effect volume, louder is clockwise
  • "Surf" controls the amount of fuzz, more fuzz is clockwise
  • "Tide" controls the tone of the effect, counter-clockwise increases mids and low-end
