Introducing the Emanating Fist Electronics ~ DP-01. High quality fuzz tones presented in a compact and contemporary format. Constructed in a rugged 120mm x 100mm x 30mm die-cast aluminum enclosure the DP-01 is a miniaturized offering of our four stage high gain silicon fuzz, the Dope Priest. The DP-01 features quality hardware and components through-out offering solid performance in both sonic delivery and road worthiness.
Potentiometers feature a conductive polymer track rather than the traditional carbon track for increased performance and lifespan. Our footswitches and audio jacks both feature gold plated contacts for optimal signal transference. The LED's fitted are low drain high brightness types with a wide and easy to see viewing angle. The control surface is functional with bold position markers and flush surface mounting control knobs. Circuit board population features capacitors with a polyester film construction, 1W carbon film resistors and gain selected epitaxial planner silicon transistors. Offering vintage styled tones but with higher modern day specification thus delivering a superb signal to noise ratio.
The EFE Particle Series pedals are primarily designed for use on a pedal board so power is supplied via an external 9 volt dc supply only (not included) There is no facility for a battery inside the DP-01 or any of the Particle Series EFE pedals.
The DP-01 is currently available in three differing circuit configurations.
Particularity tailored upon several choice Black Russian 7D Big Muff's but generally speaking DP-01 #7 is a broad snap shot of certain choice features from the Sovtek era Big Muffs. #7 is the most ample of the DP-01 types in low frequency response and the most refined in gain structure. The lows are dark and stout with a very apparent midrange scoop. The high-end is healthy but not brittle or weak that still preserves an adequate backbone and musical artifacts even at higher treble settings.
#7 is the only DP-01 to feature a logarithmic taper on the level control. This is an important feature for the Russian circuit as it adds a great deal of control over tuning tonal shapes and adds smoothness to the distortion at lower volume settings. #7 is an ideal fuzz tone for bass instruments and players requiring extended response in the lower registers. #7 features four gain selected BC547B silicon transistors and sports a high brightness red LED.
