The Plexidrive is Wampler's all-time best seller. It absolutely nails that "JTM45" tone like none other. Built as a cross between a "Marshall 18" and a JTM45, this pedal was designed to sound and react eerily similar to the famed Marshall Amp. Includes a switch that enables it to sound great with either clean sparkly amps (like fender twins, Vox, etc.) to darker beefier amps (like Vintage Marshalls, Mesa Boogies, etc).
A couple of years ago I wanted a JTM45....BAD! At the time my bandmate had a nice JTM45 that was 'handed' down to him, and I have to admit... I was jealous! Me, being the electronics tinkerer that I am set off to design a pedal that would get me those tones out of any run of the mill (ahem...cheap) amp and satisfy my lustings for the Marshall Wonder of Beauty. After many long nights of breadboarding, tweaking, and tweaking some more, I finally came up with it: The Pedal That absolutely nails that "JTM45" tone like none other.
I designed it to sound sort of like a cross between a "Marshall 18" and a JTM45, and those who have purchased the Plexidrive agree that it's very accurate! The bass boost toggle switch adds fat, full bottom end which is very useful in lower gain or lower volume (bedroom practicing) applications. For band volumes, cutting the bass out a bit really helps the tone cut through perfectly.
