T he Pro-14 and the MIDI-14 are exactly the same in every way except for one key feature. The MIDI-14 has a MIDI output that sends simple program change information at the same time as you press a footswitch. It's perfect for changing the channels of a MIDI controlled amplifier or for changing the presets on MIDI gear such as the Eventide Time Factor. You can have you favourite delay presets all stored in the pedal and recall them instantly when you hit a button on the MIDI-14. You can also separate the rails of the MIDI-14 so let's say you only want to use the bottom rail for MIDI, you can program the top rail to send out on a different MIDI channel so the rails are effectively split. This is great if you want you core tones on the bottom to access your amp channels then use the top rail as an instant access to kick in your effects. If you don't use MIDI now but might use MIDI in the future then the MIDI-14 is perefect as if you don't use the MIDI it makes absoltluey no difference to the performance of the MIDI-14 when not used as it IS a Pro-14 with simply with added MIDI out.
