Time Machine Boost
Category: Boost
The Time Machine Boost is built with no compromises and with attention made to every detail within its completely hand-crafted design that does away entirely with less-costly circuit board-mounted jacks and pots. Housed in a custom designed heavy-duty steel angled enclosure topped with beautiful aluminum knobs, the Time Machine Boost's finish is as rugged as it's construction inside. Brand new "no tools" battery access compartment makes the latest Time Machine Boost better than ever.
Built in the same tradition of the greatest amplifiers and electronic circuits of the past, the Time Machine Boost uses only premium components, wire and assembly techniques. From use of premium silver solder and teflon wire, to a range of select metal-film resistors and capacitors, Switch Craft jacks, and two premium 3DPT switches for true bypass with multi-LED function, the Time Machine Boost delivers all its sonic qualities in a rugged, low-noise design made for a lifetime of musical use. The wiring methods and components used truly make the Time Machine Boost look like a work of art inside.
The Vintage channel is based on the best vintage boosters of the past, inspired by classics such as the Dallas Rangemaster, but it is also carefully designed for maximum tone, flexibility and ultra low-noise in an updated circuit design. Onboard Level and Intensity controls adjust the boost level as well as the amount of the harmonics desired. The Vintage channel offers two modes of operation selectable via its toggle switch. In the "1966" mode, the Vintage channel is tuned to deliver the original booster tones made famous in the '60s by artists as varied as Eric Clapton with the Blues Breakers to the Beatles. Toggle into "1973" mode and the Vintage channel provides a full-range boost with harmonics enhanced in critical mids that was based on the custom-modified boosters used by artists in the '70s. Think of artists such as Queen's Brian May with his fat, full-bodied overdrive tone running through Vox AC30s, or Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, boosting the front end of his powerful Laney Amplifiers with his Gibson SGs. The Vintage Channel uses a rare and select original New Old Stock (NOS) germanium transistor to provide a truer vintage tone. Incorporating this germanium transistor with the Vintage channel's finely tuned circuit provides all the smooth musical vintage tones with ultra low-noise sure to satisfy any tone connoisseur.
The Modern channel delivers all the clean-boost one could hope for, and a bit more! Great for taking a blues player's mildly overdriven Fender tube amp over the edge for searing sustain. Hard rock and metal players can boost the front end of their Marshall amplifiers for a hot-rodded, powerful modern distortion tone that still retains all the punch and smooth character that made Marshall a household name in rock. And how about a Vox? Simply stunning. The Modern channel was designed specifically to provide a fully-transparent boost that doesn't alter the natural tone or FEEL of your guitar and amp. No lost bass response, no "flubby" response and no bumped up mids. Newly added Warp Drive control allows further gain for even more versatility. With over 23 dB's of pure CLEAN boost on-tap, the Modern channel can provide a clean boost appropriate for any situation or musical environment, from overdriving an amplifier's front end to serving as a preamp to strengthen the signal of lower-output pickups. The "secret" to many modern day players' tone is in their use of clean boosts to enhance their sound and now you can have the best!
